Colombina Fish

Colombina Fish

The Colombina Collection for Alessi introduces a new range of utensils specifically imagined for seafood based dishes designed by Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas with the culinary consultancy of Alberto Gozzi.

Colombina Fish is born from the desire to imagine a traditional cutlery line with a  contemporary twist. The rounded and sensual shape, pleasing to the touch, enhances the design, while the fish texture adorning the handles is not just a decorative pattern but a functional detail that reveals the utensils’ use.
The collection is comprised of 11 pieces in 18/10 stainless steel with a mirrored finish, including: a fish fork, knife and spoon for place settings; fork, knife and spoon for serving the fish; an oyster and shellfish fork, butter knife, caviar spoon, shellfish cracker and fork.
Behind each piece there is a study of the hand gestures that we instinctively and naturally perform while eating. Every detail is important. The shellfish fork has slightly thin curved tips in order to ease the pulp extraction; the butter knife has a rounded profile specifically designed for spreading butter, mousses or pâtés…

Colombina Fish becomes an integral part of our lives and our context, sometimes real, sometimes imagined. The mission of re-interpreting in contemporary terms the traditional ritual of the table is effectively accomplished.
