Tea & Coffee Towers – Coffee Set

Tea & Coffee Towers – Coffee Set

A continuous, flexed, fluid plane, like the designs of Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas; material is the only protagonist. The design, understated, is simply an idea. A lightweight, translucent, impalpable object. A “sheet” of delicate porcelain, of silver, plastic or glass enclosed on itself. Asymmetrically, it is set on a sinuous plane. The research is into material and colour. The conception is a process undertaken in three dimensions. A hand-crafted prototype, made in the workshop, capable of dialoguing with the new techniques of representation, becomes an industrial process.

It’s not easy to explore a different scale: the object is mobile, far from the immobility “imposed” by architecture.

Models, casts, trials, different materials: these are the experimental pathway that gives life to simplicity of a fold, to resistance and the possibility of the object.

They can be composed as patterns in an endless interplay of materials, dimensions and different colours. They can be modified and combined without limits.

“Folding” gives strength to matter.
