Contemporary Art Fair “Roma Arte in Nuvola” at the EUR Rome Convention Center ”The Cloud”
From 18 to 21 November the EUR Rome Convention Center “The Cloud” will host the first Contemporary Art Fair “Roma Arte in Nuvola” directed by Alessandro Nicosia and Adriana Polveroni
Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas present in this exclusive space within the Art Fair, their Cloud, through the exhibition of a collection of original drawings and some of the many models produced for the realization of the project.
One of the first sketches on display already tells the story of the building: a cloud with jagged lines, suspended, with light signs that suggest a transparent rectangular cage: the Theca.
The structure sketched in pencil, like a framework all around the red cloud, is orthogonal and rational like the city that surrounds it; the Cloud, on the other hand, recalls the foliage of the Pinus trees on the road in front of the building.
Among the other works, paintings and drawings made by the architects in the early stages of design dominate: the architecture is generated by its pictorial representation to then become a three-dimensional model, first as a study and then as a whole.
Exploring the works exhibited in this space, it is possible to perceive the genesis and the history of the Cloud, which has become an iconic building not only for the EUR district but for the entire cultural system of the city of Rome.
