Massimiliano Fuksas: “This is how the house of the future will be (and epidemic-proof)”, video interview with Alan Friedman

Massimiliano Fuksas was interviewed by Alan Friedman on the themes of the post Covid restart and on how the great emergency will change the way we live and conceive urban spaces.

The interview dealt with topics of great relevance in the contemporary debate such as the open letter sent to President Mattarella with the idea of a flexible and adaptable housing model focusing on the possibility of applying such a model worldwide. An in-depth look at India and the rapid growth and innovation it has been experiencing in recent years, the experience of Studio Fuksas in Dubai and China in the constant research for a sustainable, zero-emission architecture.

Finally, a reflection on the role of the architect in the post covid scenario:

“Us architects need to help the change and the development. We have learned a lot in this period, we do not need to take an airplane everyday, we need to rethink our way of moving with the awareness that we can survive even without travelling everyday. I want to help the community, architects want to help the others.
I think we are really jumping into the new Century, everything will change from mobility to work environment. I want to be part of that change, I want to change our housing facilities, I want to change our city for more sustainable relationships, so that people who hate each other might begin to love each other”.
