Massimiliano Fuksas talks about urban regeneration in an article published on Il Sole 24 Ore

“Rome can be reborn from its suburbs” states Massimiliano Fuksas in an article by Paola Pierotti, published today on the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.

Rome’s priority can only be waste. I have argued with the new mayor Roberto Gualtieri that an overall strategy must be developed and that we need a waste-to-energy plant. Rome can count on a very large territory, and we could insert one or two in areas that are not densely populated. And the abandoned landfill should be rethought as an urban park and recycling factory, also opening up opportunities for the circular economy.

Massimiliano Fuksas also takes stock of the new junta to take care of the organisation of services, an issue that has been forgotten for too long.

Waste, economic development, science, health and universities and projecting into the future: these are the objectives on which to focus for a more sustainable development for Rome, strengthening its openness to the international world.
