The house of the future, Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas Interview on Rai News 24
After the Open Letter sent together with Archea Associati, Professor Camillo Ricordi, Professor Ottavio Alfieri, Professor Michele Gallucci, Ramon Prat Homs and Giorgio Moretti to the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas spoke about their new project for the House of the Future on Rai News 24.
Doriana Mandrelli Fuksas: “In this period of great health emergency we are witnessing a disruption of our habits. In these days of lockdown, we have created a group composed by architects, doctors, computer experts, sociologists and we have started to rethink the house in order to face the new emergency and the social and housing upheavals we are witnessing. First of all we have to think about isolating the patient, thinking of the house as the first aid station. In new buildings, following the American model, we have considered the possibility to integrate a free and flexible floor plan that can become a health care facility, a space for co-woriking, co-learinig and co-living, a functionally equipped level that adapts to new housing needs.
Massimiliano Fuksas: “We believe it is necessary to modify the minimum dimensions of the housing, which should be no less than 60 square meters, and to rethink the space organization also in function of sustainable air purification systems. All this combined with a territorial and not centralized healthcare system”.
