The new Duomo Station of the Napoli underground featured on artribune.com
THE MAGNIFICENT SUBWAY-MUSEUM WILL SHOW THE ROMAN TEMPLE DISCOVERED IN 2004, ALSO VISIBLE FROM OUTSIDE, THANKS TO THE LARGE TRANSPARENT DOME LOCATED IN PIAZZA NICOLA AMORE.
The concept behind the design of the Duomo subway station in Naples is “an astronaut’s walk”, as Fuksas has defined it: those who access the structure will be able to descend underground – the subway platforms will be 40 meters deep – experiencing a special journey through a series of striking backlit and carved steel panels that change color depending on the time of day and weather conditions outside. The flooring and stairs are in travertine while the exit staircase is in lava stone.
