On Thursday 4 April 2019, at 8:50– 9:45am, Mr. and Mrs Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas will open Facades+ New York, the premier conference on high-performance building enclosures with a lecture on Studio Fuksas’s fluid and reflective facades that create a dynamism between the interior and surrounding cityscape. Studio Fuksas’ projects have become icons: from the New Milan Trade Fair, Shenzen Bao’an International Airport, to the revitalized Beverly Center. The fragmentation of the building skin dematerializes the existing volume, through the fluctuation of colors and the kinetic decomposition of the surfaces, into vibrating fragments.
Since 2012, Facades+ has brought the best of building enclosure knowledge to professional audiences around the US. Each event combines stimulating presentations and panels that examine the fast-paced evolution of facade technology.
We firmly believe that we can improve the sustainability of our cities with acts, design and planning that integrate environmental, politic, social, intellectual and economic aspects. The aim is to create a built geography that combines landscape, economy and humanity.
