Ostia Waterfront, Rome, Italy

Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas have proposed a project for a new Ostia Waterfront in Italy. Ostia (official name Lido di Ostia) is a coastal fraction of Roma Capitale, in the territory of the Municipality of Rome X. The hamlet takes its name from the ancient city of Ostia.
It overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea, south of the mouth of the Tiber river that separates it from Fiumicino to the north. Ostia, together with the nearby Fiumicino and Fregene, is known above all for the numerous bathing establishments that are found there, starting from the first years of the XX century after the reclamation of the area that was once unhealthy until the annexation of Rome to the Italy.
